Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

AM8:15 on the 6th August in 1945
Hiroshima in Japan
My home town

The voice of laugh is vanished in 1 second
The ash of death fell from sky
The black rain painted the all of city

14millions souls
Where are they now

Since immemorial time
Again and again

I never make a temple
I never make a church
I never make a shrine

To show what is right?
To tell who is wrong?
To scream I am right?

It is a thing to force
No matter if you are right or wrong
When you force your right
It will be a "control"

It is a thing to listen
No matter if they are right or wrong
When you listen to others
It will be "Peace"

Without listening
No Unity
Without tolerance
No Honesty
Without Honesty
No Peace and Love

The red color of flower
Is that truly red or what?

Without your red color glass
