The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.
Below is one of the contest entries.
Invented by men transported by air moved to a certain destination and dropped by fear Siren sound flash of light and an explosion that changed everything for those on the ground and for all mankind Families scattered, memories lost, sadness, and misery forged in the hearts of those who lost someone close A bomb invented by men for peace, a thought that probably will never comfort those exposed on the ground of Nagasaki and Hiroshima
