Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

I Wouldn't be Crying

Only of the world had peace
I would still be with my loved ones
And not bursting into tears
But I have to forget about everything
That happened that day and,
All the memories that I had,
With the people I loved
And it erase of my mind and
I wouldn't be crying anymore

I wouldn't be crying
If only I wouldn't have lost everything that I had or owned
I wouldn't be crying if,
I still had the strength,
And continue on with my life
If only that day wouldn't had happen
I wouldn't be crying!
