Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

What if the sky were falling, I would stop and catch it ALIVE.

What if a toy came alive..I would talk to it.

What if I could fly, I would be a super hero.

What if I could save the world from bombs and weapons, then everyone would love me.

What if I could stop running then the hole world would s l o w d o w n.

What if I could jump high to the moon, then I would see aliens passing by.

What if I could help other people then I would be famous.

What if I felt sad...I hope someone would help me
