The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Heart and Soul - the man It's best to live outside ourselves That inwardly is selfishness The head well-buried in the sand Move with shoes upon our feet Closer to a person's side Abide a while within their life Gain strength from one another Close that gap between us Sharing much our sustenance Turning back the hands of time Too late - tomorrow beckons us I've not forgotten you my friend.
