The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.
Below is one of the contest entries.
Peace I picture the origami cranes When I hear this powerful word It takes away the pain From this part of the world. For all the people who survived This meaningless war And all the people who are alive Are begging for no more. And from this big incident This story does increase So this poem is proud to represent This powerful word called PEACE!
