Measuring the SDG Indicator on Countries with Well-Managed Migration Policies

Overview of the online consultations/workshops

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Organization for International Migration (IOM) have been collaborating in the development of the methodology and measurement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicator 10.7.2 on well-managed migration policies, to inform the global evaluation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

As part of that work, UN DESA and IOM organized three regional online consultations/workshops. The regional online consultation/workshop for Africa was co-organized with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) during the week of February 28, 2018. The online consultation/workshop for Western Asia was co-organized with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) during the week of February 28, 2018, while the one for Europe and Northern America took place during the week of March 19, 2018.

The goal of the regional online consultations/workshops was to analyse and discuss the methodology for measuring SDG indicator 10.7.2, Number of countries that have implemented well-managed migration policies with national representatives and experts.
