Addressing the diverse needs and challenges faced by countries in special situations

The Addis Ababa Action Agenda commits the international community to support countries in special situations.

Specifically, the Addis Agenda:

  • Commits to support the implementation of relevant strategies and programmes of action for least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, and small island developing States
  • Reaffirms the need to achieve a positive socioeconomic transformation in Africa, and the need to address the diverse and specific development needs of middle-income countries
  • Recognizes the development challenge posed by conflict and the importance of the Peacebuilding Fund, and takes note of the principles set out in the New Deal by the Group of Seven Plus
