2013 Annual Campaign

The 2013 Annual Insurance Campaign for the UNHQ Health Insurance Programme will begin on 20 May 2013 and will run through Friday 7 June 2013 in order to allow staff sufficient time to make desired changes.

Due to space constraints representatives from the insurance carriers will not be on site for the 2013 Annual Insurance Campaign.

Please note from 3 June 2013 until 7 June 2013, our office will be open from 9:30 A.M until 4:00 P.M. for client service. On Monday 10 June 2013, we will revert to our normal client service hours.

The 2013 Information Circular, including the new premium rates, is being prepared and will be posted on our website. A summary of any insurance plan updates, the 2013 Annual Campaign forms, and information about applicable plan changes is available via the links above.

Completed and signed forms will be accepted by email (insurance-unhq@un.org) or by fax (917.367.1670).

Don’t forget this is the only time when those enrolled in any of the applicable insurance plans (Aetna, Empire Blue Cross, CIGNA, and Vanbreda International) can:

  • Switch plans
  • Add or drop eligible dependents
  • Drop coverage

In addition, staff members who are eligible but not enrolled in any of the above mentioned plans may sign up during this period. Although participation in a UN insurance plan is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that US-based staff members enrol for coverage because of the high cost of health care in the US. Please note that if you or your covered dependent/spouse resides in the USA, you cannot be enrolled in the Vanbreda plan.

Note: You must have a valid appointment as of 1 July 2013 to enrol or switch plans. Family members can only be enrolled if they are reflected in the appropriate administrative systems (UNHQ’s IMIS, UNDP’s ATLAS, or UNICEF’s SAP) as a household member.
