Required when substantive text or substantive draft text of an instrument is contained in a document or publication.

Uniform Titles include titles of treaties, declarations, sets of principles, guidelines, standards, uniform rules and other instruments. The authorized title of the instrument as found in the UNBIS Authority File is entered in 730 subfield $a. Multiple Uniform Titles are entered in separate 730 fields. They should be recorded in order of their occurrence in the item, or in the order that makes most sense. If an UNBIS authority record for a uniform title does not exist, a new authority record is created.

Whenever a 730 Uniform Title is added to a bibliographic record, the authority record should also be attached as a 630 Title Subject. The appropriate Content Code (089) should also be added: A19 for text of a treaty, A20 for text of a declaration, A08 for texts of other types of instruments, A17 for a draft text.

In addition, when a work contains a substantial text or draft text of a treaty, the 650 topical subject TREATIES (TEXT) should be added. When a work contains a substantial text or draft text of a declaration, the 650 topical subject DECLARATIONS (TEXT) should be added.
