The African Regional Economic Communities (RECs) High-Level briefing aims at garnering inputs towards strengthening Agenda 2063 and identifying priorities areas where the UN can further enhance its support to RECs in the areas of peace, security, governance and development. The event is also providing a global platform for the RECs to discuss their respective roles in creating an enabling environment for the realization of the aspirations of Agenda 2063, and explore measures on how to further strengthen their collaboration with the African Union and United Nations.
