Accessibility Centre

The Accessibility Centre at the United Nations Headquarters, through its services, supports the inclusion and greater participation of persons with disabilities in the meetings of the Organization. The Centre was inaugurated by Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon on 3 December 2013.

The Centre is located in close proximity to the meeting rooms and equipped with state-of-the-art assistive information and communication technology supporting audio, visual as well as physical impairments.

What will you find at the Accessibility Centre?

• Assistive tools and technologies for persons with visual, audio and mobility impairments
• Computer stations with assistive devices* such as Desktop magnifiers
• Wheelchair charging provisions at various locations in the conference facilities
• Assistance of how to use the devices is available at the counter

*Screen readers, Braille and other assistive keyboards, Portable DAISY players, Hearing aids, Bone conduction head sets, Specialized mouse, Braille notetakers, etc.
