Informal Consultations of States Parties

Fourteenth round of informal consultations of States Parties to the Agreement, focusing on the topic “Performance reviews of regional fisheries management organizations and arrangements”

Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 73/125, adopted on 11 December 2018, the fourteenth round of informal consultations of States Parties to the Agreement was held at United Nations Headquarters in New York on Thursday, 2 May, and Friday, 3 May 2019.

In paragraph 58 of resolution 73/125, the General Assembly recalled the recommendation of the resumed Review Conference in 2016 that the informal consultations of States Parties to the Agreement be dedicated, on an annual basis, to the consideration of specific issues arising from the implementation of the Agreement, with a view to improving understanding, sharing experiences and identifying best practices for the consideration of States parties, as well as the General Assembly and the Review Conference.

Pursuant to paragraph 60 of that resolution, the fourteenth round of informal consultations focused on the topic “Performance reviews of regional fisheries management organizations and arrangements”.
