As part of the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Youth-led peace initiatives, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Youth Solidarity Fund (UNAOC YSF) has announced the fifteen winners of its 2013 cycle.
The 2013 winners were selected for their efforts to prevent conflict and promote social cohesion among youth. These efforts reflect the values of the YSF programme, which seeks to empower young leaders by providing seed funding to outstanding youth-led initiatives that promote long-term constructive relationships between people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

Since its establishment in 2008, the UNAOC YSF has supported 40 organizations and reached over 250,000 global youth with projects highlighting the advancement of peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding. Reiterating UNAOC’s continued support to youth priorities, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz, High Representative of the UNAOC has said “Young people are innovators in social entrepreneurship and creators of millions of businesses. YSF provides them with a unique opportunity to help their communities, take part in shaping local and national policies, and contribute to building a better world.”
