For the first time in its 12-year history, the outcomes of the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum to be presented to the UNESCO General Conference will include, besides strategic recommendations, 15 youth-led action projects (three projects per each of the five UNESCO regions). The independent international jury has shortlisted 45 action projects that will be discussed at the forum.

The Youth Forum’s call for action projects in July 2013 received a total of 1,532 applications from young people all over the world. The 45 short-listed projects represent innovation and enterprise in youth action across the five regions of the world (Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean).

The short-list is set to be examined and discussed at the Youth Forum (29-31 October 2013), where a total of 15 projects (3 per region) will be selected by participants to receive the “8th UNESCO Youth Forum Label”.
