Member States' responses
on the implementation of
Security Council resolution 1325

The 2004 Secretary-General's report on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security was mandated by the Presidential Statement of October 2002 (PRST/2002/32) when the first report on the implementation of SCR 1325 was submitted to the Council. OSAGI is coordinating the preparation of the Secretary-General's report to the Security Council in coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Women, Peace and Security. Member States received a Note Verbale in April requesting their inputs on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1325.

Member States have also provided submissions for the Review and Appraisal for Beijing. These submissions are available from the Division for the Advancement of Women's Review and Appraisal home page (http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/Review/index.htm). OSAGI will review these submissions as related to the critical area of women and armed conflict and use this information as appropriate in the Secretary-General's report.
