2006 Bi-annual joint meeting
“Aid Modalities and the Promotion of Gender Equality”
30 to 31 January 2006 in Nairobi, Kenya
The joint meeting provided a timely opportunity
for bilateral and multilateral agencies to discuss how to make
best use of changing aid modalities and funding levels and how
to ensure that gender equality is mainstreamed into programming.
The meeting explored how the processes between donor and recipient
countries address gender equality as a cross-cutting issue, how
accountability towards the local population can be strengthened,
including for women who have often been marginalized from decision-making
processes in development frameworks.
