Ms. Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, Executive Director of the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat) met with Ms. Angela E.V. King, Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women, at the United Nations Headquarters on 14 May 2002. Among issues discussed were progress being made on integrating gender perspectives in the work of UN-Habitat and challenges in hiring more women staff.

Ms. Tabaijuka, a national of the United Republic of Tanzania, has been UN Habitat Executive Director since July 2000.
