NGO Participation in the 20th Session of CEDAW

Pre-session Working Group (20th session)

At its eighteenth session, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women decided that its pre-session working group would meet with representatives of national and international NGOs who wish to present information on those States Parties whose periodic reports are before the group (Decision 18/I). Accordingly, the pre-session working group for the twentieth session will meet NGO representatives to receive information on Greece, Thailand, China and Colombia. NGOs wishing to address the pre-session working group may do so on Tuesday, 12 January 1999 at the UN Headquarters from 3.00 - 5.00 p.m. They need to contact Ms. Koh Miyaoi, Liaison Officer, UN Division for the Advancement of Women, no later than Tuesday, 5 January 1999.

 NGO Consultation during the CEDAW 20th session

The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women has requested to meet with representatives of national and international NGOs who wish to present information on those States Parties whose reports are to be considered during its twentieth session. The States Parties to be considered during the twentieth session are: Algeria, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Greece, Thailand, China and Colombia. NGOs wishing to present information to the Committee may do so on Wednesday, 20 January 1999 in Conference Room 3 at the UN Headquarters from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. NGO representatives who wish to attend the meeting need to contact Ms. Koh Miyaoi, NGO Liaison Officer, UN Division for the Advancement of Women, no later than Friday, 8 January 1999.

 
Pre-session Working Group (21st session)

At its eighteenth session, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women decided that its pre-session working group would meet with representatives of national and international NGOs who wish to present country-specific information on those States Parties whose periodic reports are before the group (Decision 18/I). Accordingly, the pre-session working group for the twenty-first session will meet NGO representatives to receive information on Chile, Ireland, Egypt, Spain and the United Kingdom. NGOs wishing to address the pre-session working group may do so on Monday, 8 February 1999 at the UN Headquarters from 3.00 - 5.00 p.m. They need to contact Ms. Koh Miyaoi, Liaison Officer, UN Division for the Advancement of Women, no later than Friday, 29 January 1999.
