NGO Informal Meetings

Representatives of non-governmental organizations that do not have ECOSOC status but are pre-registered to the special session may attend informal meetings of the preparatory committee scheduled to take place on the following dates:

Those organizations as specified above that wish to send representatives to the informal meetings from 24 May to 2 June should write to Ms. Koh Miyaoi, NGO Liaison Officer, Division for the Advancement of Women, by fax (212)963-3463 or email: miyaoi@un.org no later than Monday, 22 May 2000 with the names of their representatives and the exact dates of their intended participation.  Those NGOs that wish to attend only the week of the 30th should send the names of the participants no later than 29 May.  Those who will use the email please indicate in the subject line "informal meetings".

Please note that it is essential for NGOs to observe the above dates if they wish to attend the informal meetings of the preparatory committee.

The venue for NGO registration for the informal meetings of the preparatory committee is located in temporary facilities at 47th Street and First Avenue.  Access to the registration desk is through the Visitors' Entrance at 46th Street and First Avenue.  

NGO representatives with physical disabilities should advice this office (Attention Ms. Koh Miyaoi) of the date on which they wish to register and we will arrange for their ground passess to be issued at the Pass & ID Unit (First Avenue & 46th Street).
