Round Table
The Bureau of the Commission on the Status of Women will hold a round table, in the context of the sixty-first session of the General Assembly, to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the Commission on the Status of Women, on Friday, 10 November 2006, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Economic and Social Council Chamber at UN HQ in New York.
The round table will be chaired by the President of the General Assembly. The Secretary-General will make an introductory statement. The President of the Economic and Social Council will also make introductory remarks. High-level representatives of Governments, Parliaments, United Nations entities, civil society and the private sector will participate in the interactive dialogue, moderated by the Chairperson of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Members of Permanent and Observer Missions, Secretariat staff, representatives of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations and the media are invited to attend.
