International Expert Group Meeting: Combating Violence against Indigenous Women and Girls

This Expert Group Meeting will bring together international indigenous experts around the theme "Combating violence against indigenous women and girls: article 22 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples." The meeting will discuss the way in which the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) should address its mandate under Article 22 of the Declaration. The results and findings of the meeting will be reported to the Permanent Forum at its eleventh session, to the General Assembly at its sixty-seventh session and to the Commission on the Status of Women at its fifty-sixth session in 2012.

belief, whenever they occur.
