In preparation for the 55th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the Division for the Advancement of Women is organizing an online discussion on the linkages between women’s and girls' access to and participation in formal and non-formal education and training, and their equal access to full employment and decent work. The discussion will be held from 7 to 20 July in both English and French. A podcast featuring experts discussing the theme will launch the online discussion.

The Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is a subsidiary body of the
Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) which is convened on a regular
basis to identify women’s needs at the regional and subregional levels, present recommendations,
undertake periodic assessments of the activities carried out in fulfilment of regional and international
plans and agreements on the subject, and serve as a forum for discussion of relevant issues.
The eleventh
session of the Regional Conference is being organized in the framework of the international review
process of the commitments entered into at the Fourth World Conference on Women, the International
Conference on Population and Development and the Millennium Summit.
