Lectures at United Nations Headquarters
Who are they for?
Lectures require a minimum of 20 participants and can be organized for:
- high school and university students
- non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- business and government representatives
- journalists
- others
How long are they?
Lectures usually last one hour and they include a question and answer session (Q&A). They can consist of one or more lectures or can be structured as:
- week-long lecture programmes
- semester-long lecture programmes
How much do they cost?
For Lectures at UN Headquarters, groups will be charged for:
- a $ 2.00 per person administrative fee payable prior to or on the day of the programme (by cash or cheque made out to United Nations at Cashiers Desk in the Visitors Lobby)
- the use of microphones, should the group consist of 70 participants or more
- the rental of venues outside Headquarters when no conference rooms are available at UN Headquarters
- the use of multimedia equipment
How do I request one?
- Requests must be made six weeks in advance

a. Lectures are only scheduled on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
b. Lectures are not offered during the opening session of the General Assembly (usually two weeks in September), on weekends or on holidays

- Unfortunately, lectures and tours are not offered during the opening session of the General Assembly (usually two weeks in September)
- Room arrangements for briefings and speakers are subject to change
