Security Council Meeting on Preventive Diplomacy
At a high-level meeting on conflict prevention, the Security Council on 22 September emphasized the political, humanitarian and economic advantages of preventing conflict and urged the UN Secretary-General to use all related tools at his disposal. The meeting held at the sidelines of the 66th General Assembly was chaired by the Lebanese President, whose country holds the rotating Security Council presidency, and attended by several other heads of state.
