Revamped UN peacemaker now available
Drawing on its leadership and experience in preventive diplomacy and mediation, DPA first launched the on-line mediation support tool UN Peacemaker in 2006 to respond to the need for accessible mediation knowledge and guidance. To keep pace with evolving demands and changes, the website has now been revamped and re-launched.
UN Peacemaker provides mediators and their teams quick access to essential tools and information. It includes 750 peace agreements from around the world - the most comprehensive database available on the internet - and offers comprehensive guidance such as the UN Guidance for Effective Mediation. To ensure that the information remains on peacemakers’ fingertips, DPA also developed a Mediation Guidance app .
UN Peacemaker has become a point of reference for practitioners and academics alike and has been widely used by diplomats, military personnel, civil society and mediators at both the national and international level. It is part of DPA’s wider efforts in mediation support, spearheaded by the Mediation Support Unit , which also manages a Standby Team of Mediation Experts whose members can be dispatched to locations around the world in support of peace and security, or provide remote analysis and advice.
