Director and Head of Department, Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad)
Mr. Petter Nore (born 1947) is Director and Head of Department in the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation. He holds a Master of Science from London School of Economics, a PhD from Thames Polytechnic and an Executive MBA from TRIUM. Also, he is a Professor II at Nordland University in Norway.
Mr. Nore has broad experience from the energy sector. He has held positions in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, the oil company Saga Petroleum (Senior Vice President), the World Bank (Senior Energy Economist) and in Norsk Hydro (Senior Vice President). Before leaving the private sector in 2007, he was heading Norsk Hydro in Russia. He is a leading Norwegian expert on the Norwegian and international energy sector.
Mr. Nore was a member of the World Bank’s Extractive Industries Review committee (2002-2004) and has participated in several Norwegian Official committees.
