UN Special Adviser visits Cricket Fiji on Oceania & Pacific mission
Canberra (UNIC & UNOSDP) – Social inclusion, health education and sport aid programmes have been at the centre of the UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace’s visit to the Oceania region.

Today marks 50 days to go until the start of the 8th Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) and the first time to be held in Tokyo, Japan. Over the past two years this flagship sport initiative of the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) has gone from strength to strength, with interest coming from all over the world to host the Programme.

As part of his Oceania tour, the UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr Wilfried Lemke made his first stop in Singapore – a country looking to make a significant contribution to the Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) community.

New York (UN News Centre / UNOSDP) – The General Assembly today urged United Nations Member States to observe the Olympic Truce – the ancient Greek tradition calling for the cessation of hostilities before, during and after the Games – in the context of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

New York (UNOSDP) – On the eve of the adoption of the Olympic Truce, the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke was yesterday in New York to promote the joint venture between the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) and Parapictures Film Production GmbH (Parapictures).

Geneva (UNOSDP) — Wilfried Lemke, the Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace to the United Nations Secretary-General, today visited the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), meeting with RIOU's Rector, Professor Lev Belousov, faculty members and students on the one-year Master of Sport Administration (MSA) programme.

Geneva (UNOSDP) – Organised by the United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR), the eleventh session of the Intergovernmental Working Group on the Effective Implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (IGWG), held a special event on the pressing issue of ‘Racism in Football’.
