Sessions on Sport at UNA-UK's Forum 2012

Two weeks before the start of the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 'UN Forum 2012' will be hosted by the United Nations Association of the UK (UNA-UK) from 10.00 to 18.00 on 14 July 2012, at the Institute of Education in London, United Kingdom.

The purpose is to bring the movers and shakers in the international arena together with UN experts and officials, British policy-makers and opinion-shapers with a wide cross-section of the public to discuss peace and security, human rights, development, humanitarian and environmental issues.

In particular, the event will consider the potential for sport to contribute to UN goals, with dedicated sessions on the Olympic Truce and sport as a tool for development.

Wilfried Lemke, the UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, will be in attendance.
