United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban-Ki moon and IOC President Jacques Rogge will be keynote speakers at the 3rd International Forum on Sport for Peace and Development, which will take place from 5 to 6 June 2013 at the UN headquarters in New York, USA. Geneva, (UNOSDP)- For the sixth consecutive year, the UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr Wilfried Lemke has received an extension for a further year. The official reappointment date was 11th April 2013, and will see the UN official explore the new and exciting formats in which sport is being used to promote positive social changes and development.  

Lima, Peru (UNOSDP) — From 24 to 26 April, the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke, visited Peru, where he was one the keynote speakers during the 1st plenary session of the 15th IOC World Conference on Sport for All.

Hoboken, April 2013- Several UN heads and a number of staff were joined by delegates from the Permanent Mission of Jamaica at the Hoboken Resilience Run in Hoboken, New Jersey on Saturday, 6 April 2013.  Their attendance at the race marked their solidarity with Hoboken and its sister city Port Maria in Jamaica, as well as with the ‘resilience runners’ who ran the race in aid of Hurricane Sandy recovery in both cities.
