United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace partner with SAMSUNG

UN Special Adviser and Mr. Ahn Jungtae from Samsung delighted with the new partnership.

New York (UNOSDP)- Samsung Electronics Co.,Ltd, a global leader in digital media and convergence technologies, today entered into a partnership with the United Nations Office on Sports for Development and Peace (UNOSDP). Looking towards the future, this partnership looks to implement projects around the world, where sport is used as a contributing factor to development, positive social change and conflict resolution.

As a dedicated and knowledgeable organization within the development field, Samsung have already managed to provide a considerable portfolio of projects that used sport as tool for positive social change and development.  This partnership between the UNOSDP and Samsung focuses on the shared values that each organization holds in regards too peace building, community projects and the power sport can have in these situations.

 UN Special Adviser on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke expresses his delight at the newly signed partnership in New York with Samsung:

 "We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Samsung, their dedication to supporting sport projects around the world has been a great encouraging factor to our collaboration. I believe that our joint forces can significantly enhance such projects that use sport as a contributing factor to development and conflict resolution."

Samsung representative, Mr.Ahn Jungtae,Vice President and CFO (Chief Financial Officer), Samsung Electronics North America Inc.Yesterday met with the UN Special Adviser to sign the Partnership Agreement.

 “Samsung electronics will take a global step to support projects that use sport to promote social responsibility. This collaboration with the UNOSDP will allow Samsung to be directly involved in projects that promote youth role models, gender equality, positive social change and peace building.”
