3rd Plenary Session of the Sport for Development and Peace International Working Group (SDP IWG)

The 3rd Plenary Session of the Sport for Development and Peace International Working Group (SDP IWG) is going to be held on 2 October 2012 at the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland.

The SDP IWG is an inter-governmental policy initiative with the aim to formulate Sport for Development and Peace policy and programme recommendations and promote the integration of these recommendations into national and international development strategies and policies of Governments. Moreover it is the aim of the SDP IWG to report on activities, share best practices of policies and related implementation, and build capacity of Governments.

The 2nd Plenary Session of the SDP IWG was conducted by the SDP IWG Secretariat on 12 May 2011 at the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland. The session was attended by Government representatives of 18 UN Member States, four UN organizations, 12 inter-governmental organizations and four academic institutions.
