2nd World Olympic Sport Convention

The 1st World Olympic Sport Convention (WOSC) took place in Acapulco, Mexico, on 23 October 2010. This world premiere gathered delegates from National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and governmental representatives in charge of sport, who exchanged views on cooperation and relations between the Olympic Movement and the Governments. The representatives discussed autonomy in sports, cooperation between governments and sports for Olympic education, sports and environment, women and sports and other topics of mutual interest. The Convention issued a Declaration.
The 2nd WOSC will take place on 16-17 April in Moscow, Russi, following the XVIII General Assembly of the Association of the National Committees (ANOC).
The Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Wilfried Lemke, will deliver a keynote address during the Plenary Session on the following theme: "Basis for good cooperation between NOCs and Governments." The session is scheduled to take place on 17 April, from 09:00-10:00.
