Conference Programme
As the Conference draws near we invite you to review a comprehensive summary of all the activities and some of the thought process that will make up this year’s three-day Conference on “Sustainable Societies; Responsive Citizens.”
The Conference Programme contains a Message from the UN Secretary-General for the occasion; an essay that gives you background to the Conference and its history and what went into the thinking behind the twin themes of this year’s assembly, reflected in a document appropriately called “Connecting the Dots,.” This document puts in perspective what brings together the theme of sustainable development and the need for volunteerism.
The Programme also features what is happening daily at the Conference as well as the list of speakers in both the Plenary sessions and the Roundtables, their biographies and photographs. We also showcase the full list of speakers in the NGO-led Workshops as well as a complete list of Exhibits and those who have kindly sponsored them.
We use the Conference Programme as an opportunity to showcase and thank all those who have been involved with the three- day NGO meeting. Finally, knowing that some of you will use this document for research on the Conference and the topics covered, we give you a list of important resources that you may find useful. We invite you to make good use of our 2011 Conference Programme
