Cultural Tours During Conference

There will be a number of events and exhibits prior to and during the Conference to enhance the conference theme and give participants the opportunity to network, learn from each other, and also to get a taste of the wonderful cultural heritage of our host country. Among those will be an opening reception for conference participants, a “Fiesta Mexicana” and closing ceremonies. Plans are also underway for a “Peace Walk” and the planting of a “Peace Pole.” There will also be poetry readings, film screenings, and musical performances.

Major exhibits will include displays on the topic of Nuclear Disarmament, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, protection of cultural heritage, Small Arms, Child Soldiers, and different creative ways focusing on peace messages.

Depending on available space and scheduling, NGOs interested in submitting material for exhibits, including short films and teaching tools relating to the conference theme, are invited to send proposals with brief description of their contribution no later than July 2nd 2009 to exhibitsdpingo2009@gmail.com
