Climate Change High among Secretary-General’s Priorities for Second Term
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presents his second term agenda  to the General Assembly, highlighting sustainable development, conflict prevention and support for nations in transition, among other key areas of action. Remarking on a rapidly changing world, Mr. Ban reminded the Assembly's Member States that the United Nations continues to be the global venue for action, partnership and creating “the future we want.”

Global Sustainability Panel Launches Report, "A Future Worth Choosing"

Secretary-General Visits “Tara” Expedition Boat
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (front) and his wife, Yoo Soon-taek visit Tara Oceans’ research schooner, “Tara,” in New York City. The scientific expedition boat has travelled the world’s oceans for almost three years to raise public awareness of the impact of climate change in oceans.

UN Climate Change Conference in Doha
The UN Conference on Climate Change (COP 18/CMP 8) continues its high-level segment today. UN Correspondents Association Annual Awards Dinner and Dance
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (right) addressed the 2012 Annual Awards Dinner and Dance of the UN Correspondents Association (UNCA), honouring winners of prizes for best media coverage of the UN.
