Biography
Jeremy Walker, 26, is a student in Toronto, Canada. He is currently studying in Japan in an exchange program.
In September 2009, Jeremy’s video entry for the Citizen Ambassador video-contest was selected by a committee of the United Nations. His video, “United Nations Citizen Ambassadors”, emphasized the important role of the United Nations in addressing major issues such as human rights violations, conflicts and poverty. He also highlighted the shortcomings of the international community, and asked the UN to prove that it can still solve world problems.
Moving on from the failure of the international community in stopping past conflicts in Rwanda and Yugoslavia, Jeremy pointed out that “we have the framework in place to make a positive difference - all we need is the will to act”. Now, as a Citizen Ambassador, Jeremy continues to promote hope for positive change.
