Cape Town, South Africa (UNOSDP) – The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Mr. Wilfried Lemke, was in Cape Town, South Africa this week. During the two-day visit, Mr. Lemke was speaking and engaging with students, athletes, academics, and the community at the University of the Western Cape to discuss the importance of sport as a peacebuilding and development tool, specifically in South Africa.

The EFPM organization began in 1994 with a goal to promote fair play and tolerance in sports and everyday life. The organization seeks to achieve this goal by supporting its members and fair play initiatives through sport organisations, cooperating with proper authorities to foster fair play themes, and by facilitating dialogue between various European sport organisations.
