WOMEN'S PROGRAMME CENTRES

Seventy women's programme centres throughout the five fields of operations are sponsored by the Agency to help women take more control over their own lives. They offer skills-training to enable women to earn an income, training in literacy, household maintenance and income conservation. Some of the centres also provide legal advice, civic education, and child-care facilities for working women. The number of women participating in the centres has nearly doubled in the 1990s.
