POVERTY ALLEVIATION
The poverty alleviation programme aims to help disadvantaged
refugees, especially women and those families enrolled in the special
hardship programme, to rise above the poverty line to enable them to
meet their own basic needs instead of solely depending on Agency
assistance. This is done through skills-training, income-conservation
and income-generating projects, including community-managed credit and
savings schemes, micro-enterprise and solidarity group lending
programmes.
