Staffing Principles UNRWA invites applications from candidates who fully meet the requirements of the post stated in the vacancy announcement. Recruitment in UNRWA takes place in the following categories: A. International posts Professional For professional category posts a university degree (preferably an advanced degree) from an accredited educational institution and several years of job related work experience are required. Senior posts require solid managerial experience in a large commercial, governmental or international organization. The job classification and compensation system is regulated by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC), established by the United Nations General Assembly. Details on the post classification and salary conditions of International Civil Servants can be found here. General Service UNRWA offers only a limited number of international posts in the general service category. Post classification and salary conditions general category staff are based on the Field Services salary scale and can be found here. B. Area posts Area staff (local) posts are classified in 20 grades ranging from labourers (Level 1A/Grade 1) to Field Programme Department Heads (Level VB/Grade 20 - equivalent to the United Nations P5 level). Priority consideration for Area Staff posts is given to applications from registered Palestinian refugees. |
