Recruitment procedures Vacant posts are simultaneously advertised internally and externally. Vacancy announcements are circulated in the UN system of organizations and among UNRWA's major donors. Occasionally, vacancies for higher level international posts are advertised in the international press. Vacancies for area posts are advertised in the local press in the respective duty station location. To view a list of current international and local vacancies please click here After the closing date for applications, a shortlist of candidates is established. Shortlisted candidates for international posts are interviewed initially by a telephone. After the telephone interview, candidates under close consideration are invited for a personal interview in the respective duty station. Personal interviews for posts located in Gaza are usually conducted in Jerusalem. Candidates may be required to sit for tests and/or to provide work samples. Employment and social references are obtained as part of the assessment process. Candidates for area posts at a higher category are required to sit for a test.
