Toy libraries

Palestinian children and families are often so overwhelmed with the consequences of the current crisis in the West Bank and Gaza that they tend to forget about the importance of play. Play allows children to explore, manipulate and absorb information about their internal and external worlds. A well-equipped toy library will give Palestinian children the opportunity to play with their favorite toys, which will go some way towards helping them develop feelings of accomplishment, security and belonging.

You can help Palestine refugee children by supporting the toy library project

UNRWA is currently planning to create 11 toy libraries at its ten Women’s Programme Centres and at one of its busy Community Rehabilitation Centres in the Gaza Strip to provide places where around 3,800 children will be able to enjoy playing safely. The centres will also create new opportunities for women, children and the disabled to join in with their local communities.
