Introduction
UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions,
outside of a very limited subsidy from the regular budget of the
United Nations, which is used exclusively for administrative
costs. UNRWA's work, in close collaboration with national
governments and other partners, could not be carried out
effectively without the sustained generous contributions
received from states and regional governments, foundations, UN
agencies, individuals and the private sector. Our partnerships
with these organizations and individuals contribute to the
success of UNRWA’s work and also serve to mobilize resources and
strengthen international cooperation in support of the
realization of a Palestinian State.
Through regular interactions with the
Permanent Missions, donor capitals, foundations, businesses and
UN agencies, UNRWA keeps donors informed and interested in our
work and thus contributes to mobilizing a large part of the
organisation’s Regular Budget for its core services, as well as
for emergency programmes and projects.
This section provides useful information
about our donors, funding mechanisms, modalities for
contributions, terminology and the humanitarian and development
issues that drive our work.
