In Search of Creative Approaches to Address Global Challenges

From 23-25 September 2007 the Louise T Blouin Foundation hosted the second Annual Global Creative Leadership Summit in New York in collaboration with the UN Office for Partnerships which provided them with strategic advice.

The foundation aims to encourage a better understanding of foreign affairs and culture beyond borders through international cooperation, exchange and dialogue for the 21st century.

In a unique peer-to-peer environment, the summit brought together 100 delegates, including Heads of State, Nobel-Prize winners, global CEOs and the most influential thought-leaders, to stimulate a cross-disciplinary creative approach in addressing common global challenges.

A range of topics such as Africa, climate change, trade, foreign policy, rule of law and education, were discussed.

In a panel discussion on Partnership Power and Potential, Amir Dossal elaborated on questions concerning the responsibility of non-state organizations to change the world, together with John Studzinski, Founder of Genesis Foundation, Martin Lipton, Founding Partner of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, Matthew Bishop, Chief Business Writer at The Economist, William Haseltine, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Haseltine Associates Ltd and Chrystia Freeland, US Managing Editor of Financial Times.
