The Library of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) aims to bring together a working collection focused on the challenging issues faced by the Asia and Pacific region in the economic and social spheres. The ESCAP region includes North East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, South Western Asia and the Pacific. The country/area specialization within the collection is also congruent with the membership of ESCAP .

The Library is a specialized collection for internal and external users. Short period use by certain groups of public users is permitted.

The Library collects monographs, reference tools, periodicals, series titles, newspapers, CD-ROMs and documents. Its principal functions include the provision of research, study material, and bibliographical and reference services.
