To signal the United Nations’ continued support for climate action, the Organization will participate in Earth Hour, a global lights-off event coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and other volunteer organizations, on Saturday, 30 March from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.

Greenhouse Gas Report

Levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have reached another new record high, according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). There is no sign of a reversal in this trend, which is driving long-term climate change, sea level rise, ocean acidification and more extreme weather.

Madagascar: Climate Change and Migration

In Madagascar, social and environmental changes have driven many to migrate. In response, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), through the IOM Development Fund, is providing support to the Government of Madagascar to raise awareness on the interdependence of migration and environmental changes.
