Heads of State and Government will gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly in September 2017. With the General Debate beginning on 19th September under the theme “Focusing on people: striving for peace and a decent life for all on a sustainable planet”, the SDG Media Zone, an initiative of the UN and its partners will broadcast live interviews, panel discussions and other digital content from 18 to 22 September to engage people all around the world in the conversations happening at the General Assembly. Lively and engaging discussions will focus on the role of sustainable development in preventing conflict, promoting gender equality, addressing climate change, enhancing the role of youth, and in expanding the role of the media and the mobile phone sector in support of the SDGs.
