This week, the United Nations hold the Ocean Conference (5-9 June). Coinciding with World Environment Day (5 June) and World Oceans Day (8), the event promotes partnerships and actions to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14, which addresses the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources.

The United Nations Information Centre for Brazil (UNIC Rio de Janeiro) heard experts and activists who have warned of problems such as high concentrations of plastics and the acidification of the oceans. Check out this special video.
