On 14 November, SDG Advocates Jeffrey Sachs and Paul Polman delivered keynote speeches during the opening session of the Low-Emissions Solutions Conference (LESC). Held in Marrakech on the sidelines of the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC, the conference featured panel discussions regarding national and regional low-carbon solutions. The sessions addressed mid-century strategies for deep decarbonization at continental, national, and subnational scales, asking the question “What does it mean to create a mid-century that incorporates global emission trajectories out to 2050?”
The key outcomes of the conference are expected to feed into the UNFCCC’s Global Climate Action Agenda.
